Switzerland: Oeschinen Lake

Yet, another European solo road trip. I started driving at 5:30am and arrived at the trailhead by 10am. My map stopped working for the last 30 mins so I had a little bit of panic mode! Park at Gondelbahn Oeschinensee Parkplatz. Plenty of parking spots. I paid 8.85 Swiss Franc for 6.5 hrs. You can upload the EasyPark app to pay or coins.

Take the cable car (cost 30 Swiss franc). Last cable car ride is 1800 so come early if you want to explore more.

From the station, it took me 20 mins hike to the lake. There are a few restaurants at the lake and boat rentals.

From the lake, I hiked for 1 hr 15 mins to Berghaus Unterbärgli. Some steep sections but you’ll be fine. A little disappointed because I didn’t get to conquer the trail that I wanted to take. I had no internet service to check my exact location, my time was very limited and weather was not cooperating. I started hearing thunder and rained for a bit. 😬

By the time I got to the lake, the sun had came out. I was able to set up my hammock and relaxed for a bit.

Overall, it was absolutely amazing!
